Flushing Meadows

Flushing Meadows

Flushing Meadows Corona Park, often called just Flushing Meadows, is the fourth largest park in New York City. Covering nearly 900 acres in Queens, New York, it’s the perfect place for a romantic, playful engagement photo shoot for two New York-loving lovebirds!

Flushing Meadows was created to be the site of the 1939 World’s Fair, and was used again as the site of the 1964 World’s Fair. You can still visit the spaces and statues created for the Fairs, including the iconic Unisphere sculpture, as well as the Pool of Industry, Avenue of Commerce, and other historic monuments.

In addition to the remains of the Fairs, the park is full of beautiful places to wander and explore. At the south end is the lovely Willow Lake; slightly further north you’ll find Meadows Lake. Lined with wide lawns and beautiful gardens, both are perfect spots for strolling. If you’d like a little adventure, you can rent a rowboat or paddleboat in good weather. There are meadows of rolling parkland, tree-lined promenades, and flower beds overflowing with color.

Flushing Meadows is more than just parkland, though. It’s also the home of the Queen’s Zoo, eleven acres of animals and exhibits waiting to be explored, as well as the Queens Museum. With it’s combination of World’s Fair landmarks, beautiful landscaping, and iconic location, the Flushing Meadows Park is one of the most unique spots in the City. When you take your wedding or engagement photos here, you truly become a part of New York history!
