Pearsall Park is one of those sweet spots that’s easy to overlook. But once you find it, you’ll want to keep coming back! Located on Bayville Avenue, a residential area in the heart of Amityville, this public park is easy to drive right past if you don’t know what to look for. But if you park and venture in on foot, we know you’ll be delighted with what you find.
The park is not large, less than a square mile, but the trees that tower over it make it feel like a secluded escape from the rest of the world. For such a small space, it’s beautifully maintained. It is equal parts formal gardens and rustic woodland, as if you are wandering the grounds of an ancient manor house that have been left to grow wild. And just when you expect to keep wandering in the woodlands, the path will open up towards the most charming, old-fashioned wood gazebo; the perfect spot for a few romantic photos.
Though small, Pearsall Park is one of the most charming photo spots we’ve ever found on Long Island. Whether you visit in bright sunlight or a rainy mist, it’s always perfect: a secret garden, just waiting for the two of you to explore.
