Bayard Cutting Arboretum was once a private estate known as Westbrook.
It was designated as part of the Long Island State Park Region in 1887.
The grounds, designed by Central Park’s landscape architect Frederick
Law Olmstead, were created to celebrate and display the innate beauty of
nature. The Arboretum provides a serene escape from the bustle of life.
It’s the perfect spot for a romantic, private wedding photos.
The Arboretum is celebrated as one of the most beautiful spots on Long
Island, with acres of ancient trees, fields of wildflowers, and rolling
green lawns. Its beauty will enchant you the same way it has enchanted
dozens of painters and artists. While we’re here, we might even stumble
upon a
plein air artist, trying to immortalize the same stunning grounds, majestic trees, and endless skies that your pictures will capture.
There are dozens of perfect spots here that you’ll want to explore. In
the Woodland Garden, you’ll feel as though you’re wandering in an
ancient forest, while the Rhododendron Garden and Perennial Garden have
something beautiful on display year-round. The River Walk will take you
on a scenic stroll along the banks of the Connetquot River, and the
Holly Walk is the perfect place to find a spot of green when snow covers
the ground. In the center of it all, the original Manor House offers a
touch of old world elegance.
No matter which spot you choose, and we recommend them all. Your wedding
pictures will be elegant, romantic, and a perfect representation of the
love the two of you share.
It's a beautiful Long Island location.
