Planting Fields Arboretum is perfect if you are in search of lush, natural beauty and abundant historic charm.

.Located in Oyster Bay on Long Island’s North Shore, this historic state park is one of our favorite places to visit.

We’re sure it will be one of yours too!

The 400 acres that make up the Arboretum and state park were originally just Planting Fields, the Gilded Age estate of the wealthy Coe family.

Here they escaped from the bustle of New York life, hosting lavish parties and enjoying the sprawling grounds that surrounded them, including greenhouses, gardens, and miles of woodland paths.

In 1949, it was deeded to New York, when it became a state park and historic landmark.

The Coe Mansion is still on the grounds, a beautiful stone building with flagged walks, sweeping archways, and elaborate terraces dripping with flowers and vines.

Walking here will make you feel like you’ve wandered back in time.

t is the perfect place to explore hand in hand with your sweetheart while we catch every lovely moment on camera.

But the main attraction here is are the grounds: as spectacular as they were in the Gilded Age, they have become even more magnificent now.

In the summer, green lawns stretch out from the Coe Mansion, leading you to secluded woodland paths than wander for miles.

Water features in the Green Garden and the Italian Blue Pool Garden offer beautiful spots for photos, and the Camellia, Rose, and Dahlia Gardens are always bursting with blooms. In the winter, there are bright gardens dedicated to holly and pine, and half a dozen greenhouses to wander through.

No matter when you’re here, you’ll be surrounded by so much romantic beauty that you may never want to leave!
