The beautiful Scully Estate, which is located in the town of Islip, has been part of Long Island history for over a century. From the 1880s until the mid-20th century, it was part of Windholme Farm, a 300-acre estate owned by the wealthy Peters family, until 1960 when it was donated to the National Audubon Society.

To this day, the Scully Estate epitomizes the elegance of the Gilded Age. It’s surrounded by the beautiful wilderness that makes up the Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge. In the center sits Wereholme, the historic mansion that was once the home of the Peters family. It’s an elegant chateau built in the French Provincial style, with gabled roofs, stone walls, sweeping staircases, and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the grounds.

Outside, the beautiful grounds are waiting for you and your sweetheart to go for a romantic wander. You can stroll under the same ancient trees that have guarded the property for over a century, or visit the greenhouse, which is full of colorful blooms in every season. No matter where we go, you’ll be surrounded by scenic beauty and historic charm. It’s the perfect place to begin your wedding journey -- we can’t wait to meet you here!
